Weekend Workshop Short Description

Friday, June 24
6:00-9:00pm;

Yoga Chikitsa & Ashtanga Retrospective: A led full Primary Series class followed by a slide show and video clips of Ashtanga’s early days narrated by David.

Saturday, June 25
9:00 am -12:00 pm

Nadi Shodana Practitioners' Clinic and Tour of Second Series: David will lead a guided exploration of the Second Series starting with an introduction of its inherent dynamics. There will be a variety of options given for each posture in order to allow students to practice appropriately.

Saturday, June 25
2:00 - 4:30 pm

Saturday afternoon is Inversions, Backbends, and Sitting with Your Breath: This class will turn your world upside down. Rather than collapsing in the back students will be taught how to expand the front and open the heart to discover more depth with greater ease in back bending. The class will end with the participants sitting quietly with their breath.

Sunday, June 26
10:00 am -1:00pm

Flying, Floating and Handstanding: This class will explore the realms of vinyasa which David calls the “Physics of Flight”. He will also introduce the elements of handstands and arm-balances through partner work and fun-filled, practical methods to find calm and equanimity when inverted.
