July - A Time for Warm Hearts
Share
This July, my heart has been with the Texas Hill Country after destructive floods swept Central Texas, costing lives and displacing families. In moments like these, practice becomes both refuge and response. When we gather, breathe, and move with intention, we can channel compassion into action, one breath, one donation, one supportive message at a time. That’s the spirit behind this community offering centered on pranayama and heart chakra anahata.

How We’ll Practice Online: Breath, Heart, Service
Breathwork to Steady the Mind
We’ll begin with gentle pranayama to regulate the nervous system and cultivate steady attention. Simple, accessible pranayama sequences can help you arrive fully and offer your presence, even amid uncertainty.
Heart-Centered Awareness
From breath, we turn toward heart chakra anahata—the center of compassion and connection. Through visualization and mindful repetition, heart chakra anahata becomes our anchor, inviting tenderness for ourselves and for the Texas community. Returning to heart chakra anahata throughout yoga class helps transform intention into felt support.
Closing with Community Intention
We’ll end with a brief seated reflection, weaving together pranayama, heart chakra anahata, and service. You’re welcome to dedicate your practice to loved ones, first responders, or anyone affected by the floods.
Everyone Is Welcome
Whether you’re new to Ashtanga or have decades on the mat, this donation-based class offers a meaningful way to practice with purpose. If you’re not in Austin, please join yoga online and consider exploring our upcoming course offerings.
