Summer Is Sailing by
We're in the final week of Mysore On Maui (M.O.M.), and it has been another fantastic experience for our community of practitioners-and for Shelley and me. Teaching yoga inside this iconic Ashtanga yoga building is both an honor and a joy. Each morning, students from across the island and around the globe step off the mat with smiles on their faces and a spring in their step. That vitality is why we practice: the discipline of Ashtanga builds steadiness, and the shared energy of the room carries into life outside the shala.
The Energy that Travels Beyond the Mat
I strongly believe that the positive energy cultivated during practice lingers long after savasana. While we're teaching yoga, students tell us they feel clearer, calmer, and more connected throughout the day-evidence that consistent Mysore practice supports real change well beyond asana.
After M.O.M.: Maui Time, Then We Hit the Road
A Short Pause on the Island
When M.O.M. concludes, we'll take a little time on Maui to work on our property and recharge. The slower rhythm of the island is the perfect counterpart to the intensity of a full Mysore season.
Fall Highlights: Ballet in Seattle & Ashtanga Abroad
In October, Shelley will be in Seattle staging a beautiful Twyla Tharp ballet with Pacific Northwest Ballet-a project she's deeply excited about. I'll be traveling to Paris, Hong Kong, and Bangkok for a series of Ashtanga yoga events that I can't wait to share with you. More info here.
