November to Remember to have an Attitude of Gratitude
Share
Grateful means being “warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received.” I’d add one more piece: gratitude grows when we give. Small gestures can change the texture of a day - yours and someone else’s. On the mat and off, that’s where teaching yoga begins: service as practice.
Small Acts, Big Ripples
If nothing feels worthy of thanks today, create a reason. Pay for a stranger’s groceries. Call an old friend. Hold the door, let someone merge, offer your seat. Plant a sapling and practice tree asana under its shade. Offer a free class in your neighborhood and remember that teaching yoga is simply sharing what steadied you. Kindness is contagious; gratitude follows close behind.
Yoga Practice Prompt: Root to Reach
Stand tall and steady your breath. Enter tree asana and notice how balance improves when the jaw softens and the gaze is gentle. Switch sides and feel the micro-adjustments in the foot, knee, and ribs. In tree asana, wobble is feedback, not failure, exactly the lesson we need for late-year busyness. When I’m teaching yoga, I cue this: press down to rise up, breathe down to calm down, look inward to look outward with care.
On the Road: Hong Kong → Bangkok → London
I’ve wrapped a meaningful week in Hong Kong and just landed in Bangkok for a yoga workshop and training. Next, I’ll head to London to close out the year’s travel. If you’re nearby, come say hello, we’ll keep things practical: accessible sequencing, breath-led pacing, and the quiet confidence that teaching yoga builds over time.

A Simple Closing
Let November be an attitude in motion. Choose one kind act, one steady breath, and one shape to remind you to root and reach, tree asana is perfect. I’m grateful for this community and for every moment we share learning, laughing, and teaching yoga with heart.
With Love & Respect,
David
