How to practice yoga Halasana

  • Lie on your back and take a few steady breaths.
  • Lift legs to Legs Up, then gently roll hips up as you bring feet overhead.
  • Place hands on the lower back for support or keep arms long on the mat.
  • Keep weight on the shoulders, not the neck; soften the throat and face.
  • Hold for 3-6 breaths, staying smooth and unforced.

Safer options and props

  • Place a folded blanket under the shoulders to create space for the neck.
  • Rest feet on a chair or blocks if they don’t reach the floor.
  • Skip the pose if you have neck issues, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or feel any sharp discomfort.
